1. Providing affordable housing, safe water/sewer services, and voting rights,  through economic, social, legislative, and legal means.
2. Empowering residents to address institutional racism that foster racial inequities. 
3. Stopping119-bypass/interstate highway from destroying West End and White Level. 
4. Installing safe water/sewer services in Buckhorn/Perry Hill, White Level, and West End Communities. 
5. Developing modules for grassroots leadership training for civic engagement.
6. Maintaining EPA Community-Based Environmental Protection. 
7. Designing neighborhood preservation/development plan for sustainable existing and new affordable housing stock.
8. Submitting grant applications to grantors who support social and environmental justice, affordable housing, sustainable communities, and grassroots leadership training to combat institutional racism.
9. Partnering for financial, technical, legal, research, and moral support. 

Cherish Every Drop of Water You Drink

     On November 14, 2003, the West End Revitalization Association - WERA celebrated it ninth anniversary at the Annual Fundraising Awards Dinner. Young adult members of WERA's DREAM-Network hosted this special occasion.

     We were blessed the presence of friends, family, and community partners. This Enviro-Art called "Cherish" by Kojo E. Wilson was presents as awards. The short poem below was written in recognition of the "Cherish" and each dinner guests, board member, and community partner was encouraged to add lines or verses in dedication to the poem. WERA needs everyone's support and commitment to eliminate environmental hazards that threaten the public health of Mebane's low-income and minority communities.
